This workshop will present an introduction to basic concepts in group work and group psychotherapy. The phenomenon of mutual aid will be presented as a central component of group work with its historical connections to psychodrama, social work, and 12-step self-help groups. The similarities and differences between group therapy and 12-step meetings will be emphasized. The utility of 12-step concepts will be explored using sociometry and psychodrama.

3. Identify one use of sociometry to explore 12-step concepts

Phoenix Center is an Approved Provider of Act 48 Credits for PA educators. Please inquire about Act 48 credits for each individual workshop.

Experiential and Psychodrama training hours:

Participants at these workshops can receive credit towards certifications through the American Board of Examiners in Sociometry, Psychodrama, and Group Psychotherapy* as well as the International Society of Experiential Professionals (CP, CET, and CES). *As a Practitioner Applicant for Trainer, Scott can provide 160 of the required 780 training hours towards CP certification for psychodrama.
