Coronavirus has actively disrupted many societal and cultural rituals of completion or celebration – including graduations and funerals. The surplus reality of psychodrama offers unique avenues for closure and completion. This workshop will present a psychodramatic perspective to closure, completion, resolution, and integration. Theoretical elements will be addressed including act hunger, catharsis of integration, act completion, and the power of surplus reality scenes for repair and corrective emotional experiences related to unresolved business. Practical aspects of safely facilitating psychodramatic and experiential processes for closure will be demonstrated and discussed.

Learning Objectives:

Explain the importance of closure in psychodrama

Describe the psychodramatic concept of catharsis of integration

Identify one experiential intervention to help promote closure
