Jacob L. Moreno\, the founder of sociometry and psychodrama\, was one of the first to challenge the medical model and suggest that mental illness is also a product of relationships\, groups\, and society. Many of the ideas articulated over 100 years ago in his triadic system are being validated by modern interpersonal neurobiology and attachment research. As humans\, we are social animals and our neurobiological wiring promotes attachment\, connection\, group membership\, and community belonging. As mental health professionals\, relationships are the vehicle from which we work with our clients – and social factors are often the crux of the client’s concerns. Moreno’s social atom offers practitioners with a dynamic process that can be used as for assessment\, intervention\, treatment planning\, or warm-up to psychodrama. Using experiential methods such as sociometry\, sociodrama\, and psychodrama we will explore attachment styles\, the impact of trauma/addiction on relationships\, and the essential nature of relationships and community in recovery. Psychodramatic and sociometric concepts such as spontaneity\, the warming-up process\, the social atom\, role theory\, tele\, and the sociodynamic effect will be presented while various interventions will be taught\, such as doubling\, mirroring\, role reversal\, sculpting\, role training\, and role playing. The psychodramatic approach will be demonstrated through experiential teaching methods to help familiarize participants with the mechanics of facilitating psychodrama processes and employing its various interventions. Foundational group therapy concepts will also be presented including group development phases\, group dynamics\, the role of group cohesion\, and the efficacy of group psychotherapy as a treatment approach in general. \nLearning Objectives: \n1). Identify four different attachment styles and their impact on one’s behavior in groups and therapy.\n2). Describe three reasons why relationships are important in recovery.\n3). Explain the social atom theory\n4). Identify three sociometric tools to explore group relationships\n5). Describe the process of psychodramatic sculpting using the social atom\n6). Explain the role of group cohesion in effective group therapy practice\n7) Compare how different attachment styles may influence a therapists’ choices or behaviors\n8) Explain how to use the social atom as an assessment\n9) Explain one way to modify the social atom for a specific population\n10) Utilize the social atom as a treatment planning tool\n11) Describe psychodrama’s role theory\n12) Demonstrate at least one sociometry tool for enhancing group cohesion\n13) Utilize the psychodramatic intervention of doubling to enhance safety\, catharsis\, and integration\n14) Explain the value of the role reversal intervention in enhancing empathy\n15) Describe the value of psychodrama and sociometry in deepening one’s understanding of social and relational problems\n16) Define each of the parts of Moreno’s triadic system\n17) Explain the utility of psychodramatic role training in helping clients develop new social skills\n18) Articulate three group therapy developmental phases \n\n\nPURCHASE YOUR TICKET BELOW AND PLEASE FILL OUT OUR REGISTRATION FORM HERE!\n\n\nWeekend Option-21 CE Credits or 21 ISEP Training Hours Registration below:  \n0123456789101112131415161718192021222324252627282930313233343536373839404142434445464748495051525354555657585960Professional Registration for Friday Sept 16 to Sunday\, Sept 18\, 2022599.00 USD0123456789101112131415161718192021222324252627282930313233343536373839404142434445464748495051525354555657585960Student Registration for Friday Sept 16 to Sunday\, Sept 18\, 2022425.00 USDYour eTicket will be emailed after payment to your PayPal email address.\nFriday Only Option – 8 CE Credits or 8 ISEP Training Hours Registration below:  \n0123456789101112131415161718192021222324252627282930313233343536373839404142434445464748495051525354555657585960Professional Registration for Friday Sept 16\, 2022199.00 USD0123456789101112131415161718192021222324252627282930313233343536373839404142434445464748495051525354555657585960Student Registration for Friday Sept 16\, 2022125.00 USDYour eTicket will be emailed after payment to your PayPal email address.\n\nPlease note that this is workshop will include both didactic and experiential learning components. SUMMARY:Freedom from Trauma through Psychodrama: Spontaneity and Post-Traumatic Growth [Ukraine conference lecture]
DESCRIPTION:Freedom from Trauma through Psychodrama: Spontaneity and Post-Traumatic Growth \nDr. Scott Giacomucci\, DSW\, LCSW\, BCD\, CGP\, FAAETS\, TEP \nDecember 10th – 11th\, 2022 \nConference Lecture and Workshop \nThe Association of Psychotherapists and Psychoanalysts of Ukraine (APPU) \nThis workshop will explore the theme of freedom through the lens of psychodrama’s concept of spontaneity. Spontaneity is often misunderstood but in psychodrama context\, spontaneity can be considered a sense of inner freedom – not being held back or inhibited from appropriate action in the moment. Spontaneity allows individuals\, groups\, communities\, organizations\, and nations to have new responses to old situations\, and adequate responses to novel circumstances. Trauma\, both on the individual and collective level\, can impact our sense of freedom and our capacity for spontaneity. This workshop explores the movement from trauma to spontaneity and growth through psychodramatic methods and frameworks.

SUMMARY:Internal Family Systems Therapy: An Introduction for Curious Professionals
DESCRIPTION:Date & Time: January 14\, 2023\, 9 am-4 pm (with one hour lunch break) \nCost: $200 for professionals | $140 students (*write to us if cost is your only barrier) \nPresented: by Rachel Longer\, MSS\, LCSW\, CET II\, Certified IFS Therapist \n6 CE Hours for PA social workers\, counselors\, MFTs\, & psychologists and NBCC \nIn-Person: Phoenix Center – 524 N. Providence Road Media\, PA 19063 \nInternal Family Systems (IFS) Therapy was developed by Dr. Richard Schwartz and is an incredibly validating and healing form of individual psychotherapy. The IFS model invites us to approach our and others’ internal worlds with curiosity\, compassion\, connectedness\, clarity\, courage\, calm\, confidence\, and creativity. IFS asserts that each of us has many parts inside of us who\, through trauma or other emotional injury\, are catapulted into specific roles in order to keep us safe. IFS allows us to heal our parts\, release them from these roles\, and cultivate harmonious internal relationships and interactions. This workshop will integrate didactic and experiential components to support professionals in learning the IFS model to use with clients in a professional setting–no previous IFS knowledge is required. \nLearning Objectives:  \n\nExplain an overview of the IFS model including different parts and Self.\nDescribe one of the steps (the 6F’s) in IFS when working with a part\nDemonstrate awareness of therapist’s parts that get activated in a client session\nIntegrate basic IFS principles\, language and techniques into my work\n\nBy purchasing tickets and registering for this event\, you confirm that you agree with the Phoenix Center’s Informed Consent for Experiential Therapy Training. \n\nPURCHASE YOUR TICKET BELOW AND PLEASE FILL OUT OUR REGISTRATION FORM HERE!\n\n0123456789101112131415161718192021222324252627282930313233343536373839404142434445464748495051525354555657585960Professional Registration for January 14\, 2023200.00 USD0123456789101112131415161718192021222324252627282930313233343536373839404142434445464748495051525354555657585960Student Registration for January 14\, 2023140.00 USDYour eTicket will be emailed after payment to your PayPal email address.\n\nPlease note that this is workshop will include both didactic and experiential learning components. SUMMARY:Part 2: Introduction to Sexually-Informed & Celebratory Care in Historically Marginalized Communities
DESCRIPTION:Workshop Series: The Intersection of Sexually-Informed Care and the LGBTQIA+ Community \nPresented by: Rachel Saccarelli\, LSW\, MSW\, CCTP\, CSTS\, EH.M\, LE\, LMT & Lewis Johnson\, M.S.\, NCC\, CTP \nDate & Time: February 25\, 2023\, 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM \nCost: $200 for professionals | $140 for students (*write to us if cost is your only barrier) \n6 CE Hours for PA social workers\, counselors\, MFTs\, psychologists\, and NBCC Hours \nLocation: Phoenix Center – 524 N. Providence Road Media\, PA 19063 \nAbout the workshop: \nSexually-informed care is a type of care that centers the individual as a sexual being and establishes safety and trust in the therapeutic setting. It also looks at how we can understand that sexuality and social and economic justice are within all that we do with clients in clinical settings. Celebratory care differs from affirming care in that it praises and uplifts the community in ways that society traditionally has not done in the past. We will define both types of care and how they relate to marginalized communities. As a class\, we will also apply these concepts clinically. \nLearning Objectives: \n\nList terminology associated with sexually-informed and celebratory care\nRecognize when a client’s sexuality informs their presenting issue\nIllustrate when a client’s sexuality exacerbates their presenting issue\nDistinguish risk factors caused by rejection and discrimination\nSet up practical applications of sexually-informed and celebratory care\nEvaluate the benefits of sexually-informed and celebratory care in clinical settings\n\nPlease note: This full-day in-person training is the second training in a 4-part workshop series. Attendance at the previous workshops is strongly recommended but not mandatory. The dates and times of the remaining workshops in the series can be found below. \nWorkshop Series: The Intersection of Sexually-Informed Care and the LGBTQIA+ Community\, Presented by Lewis Johnson\, M.S.\, NCC\, CTP and Rachel Saccarelli\, LSW\, MSW\, CCTP\, CSTS\, EH.M\, LE\, LMT \n\nPart 3: Sex\, Shame\, & Substance Use: The Clinical Guide to Working with Folks in Historically Marginalized Communities – March 25\, 2023 @ 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM\nPart 4: Exploring the Nuances of Sexually-Informed Care & the LGBTQIA+ Community – April 15\, 2023 @ 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM\n\nBy purchasing tickets and registering for this event\, you confirm that you agree with the Phoenix Center’s Informed Consent for Experiential Therapy Training. \n\nPURCHASE YOUR TICKET BELOW AND PLEASE FILL OUT OUR REGISTRATION FORM HERE!\n\nThis fee is for February 25\, 2023 only \n0123456789101112131415161718192021222324252627282930313233343536373839404142434445464748495051525354555657585960Professional Registration for February 25\, 2023200.00 USD0123456789101112131415161718192021222324252627282930313233343536373839404142434445464748495051525354555657585960Student Registration for February 25\, 2023140.00 USDYour eTicket will be emailed after payment to your PayPal email address.\n\n* Please note that this workshop will include both didactic and experiential learning components.
