This workshop will highlight historical\, theoretical\, and practical similarities between psychodrama and social work practice/education. DESCRIPTION:Monday April 26th 4:00 – 8:00 pm (EST)| Zoom Workshop | Cost: $95; $75 students; (write to us if cost is a barrier) \nPresented by Dr. Scott Giacomucci\, DSW\, LCSW\, BCD\, FAAETS\, PAT \n4 CE Hours for PA social workers\, counselors\, marriage\, and family therapist\, psychologists\, NBCC & training hours. \n“Trauma-Informed” has become a buzzword recently. Suddenly everyone is “trauma-informed” and every treatment program is “trauma-informed”. However\, there appears to be a lacking shared understanding of what “trauma-informed” means. This workshop offers a foundational introduction to SAMHSA’s 6 core principles of trauma-informed care which are applicable in any setting (treatment\, education\, community\, organizations\, etc). The differences between “trauma-informed” and “trauma-focused” will be highlighted and the basics of PTSD will be presented. Experiential techniques including sociometry and sociodrama will be employed to explore trauma-informed principles and PTSD in action. The trauma triangle will be presented as an operational definition of PTSD embodied in role theory.
