Media\, PA 19063 \nCost: Free \n \nAbout this Workshop\nThese workshops are an expression of gratitude for you\, our clients. Thank you for trusting us with your care. We believe in you and your recovery trauma. We also believe that nobody heals from trauma in isolation and that community is important in recovery. We want to take steps to create opportunities for our clients to connect with each other and build community at the Phoenix Center.  We are committed to your success and want to offer additional tools to integrate into your recovery journey.\n\nOur client workshops will include a series of facilitated exercises to help build connection and relationships between participants. These exercises will be experiential in nature and allow for multiple low-stress opportunities to share with others and learn from others in smaller group settings. The workshop will focus on trauma recovery themes and the importance of cultivating posttraumatic growth. Our hope is that this workshop will help provide a sense of peer support and solidarity in your trauma recovery journey.\n\nYou will also get a chance to connect with our leadership team and share feedback and suggestions for our Center. Researchers estimate that by 2060\, 42% of Americans over the age of 55 will develop dementia\, a sharp increase from the current rate of 10.9%\, which is already a significant number. As mental health professionals\, we can help reduce risk factors associated with developing dementia\, which often begin in early life. \nIn this 1-hour Webinar\, we will begin to unravel the connection that exists between dementia\, mental health\, and trauma.  We will explore overall brain health\, brain changes\, how mental health conditions impact cognitive changes\, and how psychiatric conditions manifest in the presence of dementia. \n \nLearning Objectives\n1. Describe the connection between dementia and depression.\n2. Explain how trauma in early life can impact risk factors for developing dementia.\n3. Recognize how certain treatments for depression can impact the rate of cognitive decline.\n\nWorkshop Policies and CE Education Hours\nContinuing Education Hours and Training Credits\nPlease note that participants must attend the entire training event to receive CE/training credits.
