Friday January 28th, 12:30pm – 2:30pm EST
Description: This workshop presents addiction and trauma as a cyclical process often fueling each other. Most clients in treatment for addictions have significant histories of trauma which must be addressed in the recovery journey. As an experiential approach integrating mind, body, and spirit, psychodrama is uniquely situated to treat addiction and trauma. The presenter will leverage his experience providing psychodrama groups and creating treatment programs across the addiction treatment continuum. This workshop will include experiential and didactic components.
Learning Objectives:
1. Explain one connection between addiction and trauma.
2. Describe one reason why psychodrama is effective as trauma treatment.
