Free Webinar Series: EMDR Readiness. When Should I Refer for EMDR Therapy?

This workshop is part one of a series of Free Webinars hosted by clinicians at The Phoenix Center for Experience Trauma Therapy. This series will take place on the third Wednesday of each month on Zoom. Please register for each event individually.

This workshop will provide an overview for therapists, case managers, families, and other professionals on the essentials of assessing someone’s readiness for trauma processing through Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) Therapy. Information will be provided on cases that EMDR is likely to work very well and other situations where EMDR is less likely to be effective. The conditions for effective and safe trauma processing will be outlined with an emphasis on preventing retraumatization. The differences between EMDR resourcing and EMDR processing will be described, as well as differences in EMDR’s approach to single incident trauma and complex trauma.
