Shana Bryan (she/her) is currently a graduate student in the Clinical Mental Health Counseling program at Neumann University. She was drawn to the program’s pastoral focus, which weaves spirituality into the heart of mental health counseling. Shana’s areas of interest include navigating life transitions, shame, anxiety, depression, grief and loss, addiction and substance use recovery, identity and social systems (LGBTQIA+), and the integration of body, soul, and spirit.
Shana believes that the human mind and soul naturally move toward healing: just as the body mends physical wounds, the mind can heal too when nurtured with compassion and care. She works collaboratively with clients to uncover what may be getting in the way of their well-being, focusing on building a genuine therapeutic relationship that empowers individuals both in and outside of the therapy room. She is dedicated to fostering affirming, inclusive spaces where clients feel seen, supported, and safe. Her hope is to help clients reconnect with their inner resilience, rediscover hope, and move toward a deeper sense of meaning and wholeness.
Professional Experience
Before entering the counseling field, Shana spent eleven years as an elementary school teacher in the Tampa public school system and later transitioned to teaching in higher education in Pennsylvania, where she has worked for the past decade. Her background as an educator has shaped her understanding of the world through a rich multicultural lens – one that values the strength and wisdom found in each person’s lived experience. Her shift into counseling is rooted in her own journey of growth, healing, and a deep call to walk alongside others as they face life’s challenges.
As your therapist, I’ll offer a compassionate, non-judgmental space where you are welcomed exactly as you are. Together, we will explore your experiences through a holistic and systemic lens, working to understand your unique story so you can move forward with clarity, strength, and healing.
