When examining mental health and dementia, they may seem very different, but both fundamentally involve the brain and can significantly affect daily life. Researchers estimate that by 2060, 42% of Americans over the age of 55 will develop dementia, a sharp increase from the current rate of 10.9%, which is already a significant number. As mental health professionals, we can help reduce risk factors associated with developing dementia, which often begin in early life.
In this 1-hour Webinar, we will begin to unravel the connection that exists between dementia, mental health, and trauma. We will explore overall brain health, brain changes, how mental health conditions impact cognitive changes, and how psychiatric conditions manifest in the presence of dementia.
Please note that participants must attend the entire training event to receive CE/training credits. Partial credit is unable to be offered.
