About this Webinar:
Estrangement is a deeply personal and often painful experience that affects millions of individuals across various family, friendship, and community ties. Whether initiated by choice, necessity, or circumstance, estrangement brings with it a range of emotions: grief, anger, confusion, and sometimes even relief. In this workshop we will explore the psychological, relational, and social dimensions of estrangement, and what it means to live in the space between connection and separation.
This webinar is designed to offer insight, validation, and tools for those working to support others through estrangement, or who are experiencing it themselves. We’ll examine common causes and patterns, the role of trauma and identity, and how healing can look different for everyone – whether through reconciliation, boundary-setting, or finding peace with distance. Together, we aim to create a compassionate space to reflect, learn, and move forward with greater clarity and understanding.
Learning Objectives:
By the end of this workshop, participants will be able to:
- Explore the psychological, emotional, and social dimensions of estrangement, including its causes and common patterns.
- Identify the impact of estrangement on mental health and well-being for individuals and families.
- Introduce strategies for coping with estrangement and fostering healing and/or acceptance
