Therapist & Intake Coordinator

As the intake coordinator for the Phoenix Center for Experiential Trauma Therapy, it is my honor to assist you in beginning your journey of healing. With compassion, understanding, and empathy as guiding points, I can work with you to connect you to the proper services. Often times, when one is reaching out for help is when they need it the most. It can be scary and confusing to navigate the mental health treatment continuum, so I feel fortunate to serve as a companion for you as you begin this new journey. I utilize my prior experience in social services, connecting and educating individuals and families to and on supports and resources in their communities, as well as my clinical knowledge to help you cultivate the courage to discover the best fit for your needs. Reaching out for help is the first step toward post-traumatic growth.

If you are ready to find a therapist or join our therapy groups, please contact Hayley for an intake at 484-440-9416

Hayley Bérot M.A. CMHC, NCC, CTP, (she/her/hers) has a vast array of clinical experience in the field of counseling working with both teens and adults who have experienced various forms of trauma including, but not limited to, sexual assault, intimate partner violence, first responders, grief and loss, substance abuse, and attachment trauma.

She worked for 5 years at the Delaware County Victim Assistance Center (formerly WAR) as a counselor/advocate for survivors of sexual assault (SA) and/or domestic violence (DV). During this time, she was able to support thousands of survivors through a variety of services such as crisis intervention, individual counseling, psychoeducation, prevention education, and accompaniment to police interviews, hospitals, and court proceedings. She has gone through extensive training to become a sexual assault counselor and deeply values being able to help survivors at any stage in their healing journey.

In addition to working with survivors, Hayley is passionate about working with first responders who have directly or indirectly experienced traumatic events through the course of their employment. Hayley previously worked as a volunteer firefighter and first responder for several years where she witnessed the many unique challenges faced by police, fire, medical, and military personnel.

Additionally, Hayley has experience working as a milieu counselor at an intensive residential treatment facility for children and youth with various mental health diagnosis. Through her cumulative work experiences, she has had the opportunity to work with diverse clientele with a number of differing diagnosis and presenting symptomology. These most frequently included symptoms of depression, anxiety, and posttraumatic stress.

In her current work, she takes an eclectic approach to therapy which allows her flexibility when choosing the most effective interventions to address her client’s unique, individual needs. Although each treatment modality is tailored to the client’s individual needs, she most frequently utilizes the following treatment modalities: EMDR, CBT, CPT, Gestalt, motivational interviewing, person-centered, and experiential techniques such as psychodrama.

“I enjoy building genuine and authentic connections with my clients through my compassionate, empathetic, and encouraging nature. I aim to create a safe and therapeutic environment where individuals can share their experiences openly and vulnerably without fear of judgement. I am passionate about working collaboratively with my clients to gain new insight and awareness leading to personal growth and transformation. I am looking forward to being a part of your healing journey, whenever you are ready!”

She earned a M.A. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Immaculata University. Previously, she had completed her B.A. in Psychology with a minor concentration in Criminal Justice from Neumann University in 2015. In addition, she has completed advanced trauma therapy training in EMDR and CTP. She is currently working on her CET certification.
